‘Into the Woods’ leads winners of 2023 Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards

On May 24, Broadway.com announced the winners of its 2023 Audience Choice Awards, voted on by fans. The awards will be presented at a private reception on June 1.

Leading the winners is the revival of “Into the Woods,” which earned six wins, including Favorite Musical Revival. “Some Like It Hot” was named Favorite New Musical, “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” won the prize for Favorite New Play and “The Piano Lesson” was named Favorite Play Revival.

In terms of performers, “Into the Woods” star Sara Bareilles garnered the award for Favorite Performance of the Year in a musical. Overall, “Sweeney Todd” star Annaleigh Ashford took home the most performance titles, winning three awards including Favorite Leading Actress in a Musical.

The Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards are presented by John Gore Organization, the parent company of Broadway.com as well as Broadway News.
