“Metaverse of Magic” has set its sights on Broadway. Directed by Siobhan Ginty, the magic-focused show premiered in Australia and has plans to tour the Middle East and Asia. Though plans are not yet confirmed, the representatives for the production said it is aiming for a spring 2025 Broadway run.

Co-created by Ginty, Suzanne Jones and Del Wynegar (who is also associate director), the production combines illusion with storytelling and audience participation. Audience members will interact live with the performers using their phones to help complete challenges and further the story along.

Eddie Perfect, a 2019 Tony Award nominee for his score to “Beetlejuice,” provides additional script material.

“Metaverse of Magic” played Australian engagements in Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane from November 2023 to January 2024. The production opened in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, on Jan 25. “Metaverse of Magic” currently stars Australian magician Ash Hodgkinson (“Ash Magic”), as well as illusionists Charli Ashby, HARA, Horret Wu, Jarred Fell and Sabine van Dieman.

“The magic/variety format has been the same for millenia,” said Jones in a statement. “With ‘Metaverse of Magic’ we are bringing it into the digital age, combining gamification and interactivity with live theater.”

“It is very exciting to take interaction beyond the traditional performer/audience relationship and watch the joyful interaction between the theatergoers,” Jones continued. “We are delighted to now take this to the world.”

Production timeline and venue for a Broadway run, as well as engagements in London’s West End and across North America, have yet to be announced.

“Metaverse of Magic” is being produced by Jones for Jones Theatrical Group.
