After a five-year, pandemic-induced hiatus, Broadway Salutes returned on Oct. 29. The annual event honors workers in every single department, venue and office tied to Broadway who have worked in the industry for more than 25 years.

Broadway Salutes was established in 2009 by general manager Nina Lannan, during her tenure as chair of the Broadway League, and longtime Local One worker and former union business manager Tony DePaulo, during his time as chair of the Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG). The 2024 ceremony took place at Sardi’s restaurant in the Theater District and marked the 15th annual celebration. Approximately 1,110 new employees were honored.

Broadway Salutes is a collaboration between management and unions to recognize thousands of employees for decades of service, offering pins to those who have served the industry for 25, 35 and 50 years. The names of every honoree also ran on the digital “zipper” marquee in Shubert Alley on Oct. 29.
