Hugh Jackman will receive the Drama League’s Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater Award, the organization announced Wednesday.
Jackman is one of several honorees to be recognized at the 88th annual Drama League Awards this spring. Lileana Blain-Cruz will receive the Founders Award for Excellence in Directing. Billy Crystal will be awarded the Contribution to the Theater Award. Producer Willette Murphy Klausner will be honored with the Gratitude Award.
As previously reported, the Drama League Awards, which honor Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, return to an in-person format this year, after two years of virtual ceremonies. The luncheon will be held May 20 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom.
Nominations for the Drama League’s competitive awards will be announced April 25 from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. This year’s eligibility period for productions spans from March 16, 2021 through April 23, 2022.
Correction: A previous version of the article misstated the end date of the eligibility period. It has been corrected.
