“How to Dance in Ohio” has scheduled a run in the U.K. The announcement was made at a reunion concert of the musical on May 20 at Palladium Times Square. The musical, which features a book and lyrics by Rebekah Greer Melocik and music by Jacob Yandura, will cross the pond in 2025. A specific venue will be announced.
Set in Columbus, Ohio, and based on the documentary of the same name, “How to Dance in Ohio” chronicles seven autistic young adults as they navigate preparations for their first formal dance. Directed by Sammi Cannold, the musical opened on Dec. 10, 2023 at the Belasco Theater and closed on Feb. 11.
Carter Dixon McGill Productions will serve as manager of the U.K. run. Casting will be announced.
“How to Dance in Ohio” is being produced by P3 Productions (Ben Holtzman, Sammy Lopez, Fiona Howe Rudin) and Level Forward.
