“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” will play the Curran theater in San Francisco beginning in the fall of 2019.
The play is coming to the Curran theater as part of a collaboration between the theater and Ambassador Theatre Group, in which ATG will lead the operation of the theater during the show’s run. This will be the fourth production of the show, including the productions in London, New York and an Australian engagement opening in Melbourne in 2019.
“We are delighted that ATG and Carole Shorenstein Hays have worked their magic to provide the ideal West Coast home for the production,” producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender said in a statement.
Casting information and performance dates will be announced at a later date.
The Broadway production opened at the newly remodeled Lyric Theatre on April 22, 2018. It is in its third year of performances at the Palace Theatre in London.
