The new musical “Harmony” is eyeing a Broadway production, according to press representatives.

“Harmony” premiered Off-Broadway in a National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene production which ended May 15. The show ran at the Edmond J. Safra Hall in the Museum of Jewish Heritage, beginning performances on March 23. The run was extended from its original closing date of May 8.

Barry Manilow, the musical’s composer, made an appearance at the final curtain call, along with co-creator Bruce Sussman and director/choreographer Warren Carlyle.

“I’d like to think of today as only the end of the beginning!” Sussman said onstage, signaling a possible Broadway transfer.

The Off-Broadway cast featured Chip Zien, a member of the original Broadway cast of “Into The Woods” and of this season’s “Caroline, or Change,” and Sierra Boggess, who has appeared on Broadway in “The Phantom of the Opera,” “The Little Mermaid” and “School of Rock.”

“Harmony” has been nominated for three Drama Desk Awards, including Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Book of a Musical and Outstanding Actor in a Musical for Zien’s performance.

It was announced last week that a cast album would be recorded featuring the original Off-Broadway cast.

Ken Davenport and Sandi Moran are attached to the project as producers.
