Broadway’s “Hadestown” will welcome three principal players to the Walter Kerr Theatre. Tony Award nominee Hailey Kilgore and Carlos Valdes will step into the roles of Eurydice and Orpheus, respectively, while Tony nominee Tom Hewitt will return to the role of Hades. The trio will begin performances on Jan. 14, 2025. They will succeed Maia Reficco, Jordan Fisher and Phillip Boykin, respectively, all of whom, as previously announced, will depart the production on  Jan. 12.

“Hadestown” will mark Kilgore’s return to Broadway after six years. Kilgore made her Broadway debut as Ti Moune in the 2017 staging of “Once on This Island,” a performance which earned her a Best Leading Actress in a Musical Tony nomination.

Valdes is known for his television appearances as Cisco Ramon/Vibe in the CW series “The Flash” and Miguel in the Hulu series “Up Here.” He appeared in “Once” on Broadway and “Jersey Boys” on tour.

Hewitt received a Tony nomination for his leading turn in the 2000 revival of “The Rocky Horror Show.” Hewitt’s 2025 engagement as Hades will mark his fourth tenure in this role at the Kerr.

The current principal cast of “Hadestown” also includes Allison Russell as Persephone and Lillias White as Hermes, as well as Shea Rene, Jessie Shelton and Brit West as the Fates.

Featuring a Tony-winning score and Tony-nominated book by Anaïs Mitchell, “Hadestown” is a modern adaptation of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. The musical opened on April 17, 2019, and was nominated for 14 Tony Awards, winning eight, including Best Musical. The production recently released a special cast album, “Talking Hadestown,” featuring Mitchell chronicling its creative process.

“Hadestown” is produced by Mara Isaacs, Dale Franzen, Hunter Arnold and Tom Kirdahy.
