Doug Wright's new play "Good Night, Oscar" has announced its full principal cast for Broadway. The production is set to play a strictly limited engagement at the Belasco Theatre, beginning previews on April 7 with an official opening set for April 24. The show is scheduled to run through Aug. 27. The Belasco is currently home to "Ain't No Mo'."
As previously reported, Sean Hayes will star as Oscar Levant, Hollywood actor, concert pianist and TV personality of the Golden Age. Newly announced principals joining Hayes include Marchánt Davis as Alvin Finney, Alex Wyse as Max Weinbaum as well as Sam Bell-Gurwitz, Postell Pringle and Max Roll.
They join Emily Bergl as June Levant, Peter Grosz as network executive Bob Sarnoff, Ben Rappaport as TV host Jack Paar and John Zrdojeski as George Gershwin, all of whom were previously announced.
"Good Night, Oscar" takes place on the set of Paar's "Tonight Show" as Levant steps into the guest seat to charm and scandalize audiences.
Directed by Lisa Peterson, "Good Night, Oscar" will feature scenic design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Emilio Sosa, lighting design by Ben Stanton and Carolina Ortiz Herrera, sound design by Andrew Pluess, wig, hair and makeup design by J. Jared Janas and music supervision by Chris Fenwick. Casting is by Stephen Kopel and dramaturgy is by Jacqueline E. Lawton.
"Good Night, Oscar" premiered at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago earlier this year. It is produced on Broadway by Grove Entertainment, Barbara Whitman, Hazy Mill Productions, Yonge Street Theatricals and Frank Marshall.
