“Freestyle Love Supreme” will return to the Booth Theatre on Broadway Oct. 7.

The improv musical and hip-hop show, created by Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Anthony Veneziale, returns after a prior Broadway run at the theater in fall 2019. The show will play a strictly limited engagement at the Booth Theatre through Jan. 2, 2022.

The main company of Freestyle Love Supreme includes Andrew Bancroft, Tarik Davis, Aneesa Folds, Arthur Lewis, Kaila Mullady, Chris Sullivan and Anthony Veneziale.

Guests are expected to make appearances throughout the run and may include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Christopher Jackson, Daveed Diggs, James Monroe Iglehart, Wayne Brady, Ashley Pérez Flanagan, Bill Sherman and Utkarsh Ambudkar.

The show is directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jenny and Jon Steingart and Jill Furman.

“Freestyle Love Supreme” was originally developed and produced in 2004 by Ars Nova, in association with Jill Furman and Back House Productions. The show has traveled across the world and seen many iterations throughout the years, including its 2019 revival, starting Off-Broadway at the Greenwich House Theater, and as a documentary on Hulu.

Following “Freestyle Love Supreme’s” previous Broadway run, the Booth Theatre had played home to the revival of ““Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” However, after playing nine preview performances, the production announced in March 2020 that it would not be returning after the Broadway shutdown.
