Simon & Schuster has announced the upcoming publication of “Theater Kid,” a memoir by Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Jeffrey Seller. The book is scheduled for release on May 6, 2025, and chronicles Seller’s childhood in a Detroit suburb and his trajectory to Broadway.

In “Theater Kid,” Seller reflects on his experiences growing up as an adopted child grappling with his sexuality and seeking refuge from a dysfunctional home. He finds his passion for musical theater, which ultimately leads him to New York City. The memoir explores the difficulties he faced in the theater industry, particularly during the HIV/AIDS crisis, as he worked his way up from an office assistant to a prominent producer.
