The Broadway League honored three exceptional leaders in the theater industry at its 2025 Biennial Leadership Conference, held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The leadership awards were presented to Christina Selby, Tammie Ward and Damian Bazadona, each recognized for their outstanding contributions to Broadway and touring Broadway.
These honors are a continuation of the League Leadership Awards initially presented in December at the League’s annual meeting. As previously announced, those recognitions included Lauren Reid, David Stone and Michael David.
Selby, vice president of production and touring at Nederlander Producing Company of America, was awarded a Special Service Award for her years of dedication to Broadway. In her role, Selby oversees touring productions in over 35 markets across the country and handles developmental work and investor relations for shows Nederlander produces or invests in. With experience at prestigious organizations like the Charlotte Wilcox Company, Jujamcyn and Roundabout Theatre Company, she is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s School of the Arts and mentors future industry leaders through the NYU Tisch Drama Women’s Mentorship Program.
Ward received a Special Service Award for her 27-year career in theater operations. Currently, as senior director of theater operations for the Shubert Organization, Ward manages the integration of Broadway productions into Shubert’s 17 Broadway venues. She has served as a company and general manager with 321 Theatrical Management and held senior positions for the Kennedy Center and Dallas Children’s Theater. Ward is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, currently co-chairing the League’s equity, diversity and inclusion committee.
Damian Bazadona, founder and president of Situation, was honored with the Impact Award for his trailblazing work in Broadway marketing. Since founding Situation in 2001, Bazadona has led the agency to create award-winning campaigns for some of Broadway’s biggest hits, including “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Wicked” and “Aladdin.” Beyond his work in marketing, Bazadona founded Situation Project in 2011, a nonprofit initiative that provides underserved New York City students with access to arts experiences, aligned with the UN’s goal of inclusive, equitable education. His dedication to social good earned him recognition at the White House’s inaugural SouthxSouthLawn event in 2016.
The recipients were determined by a League awards selection committee composed of full members representing all membership categories.
