Level Forward, the Tony Award-winning production company, has announced a residency at Soho House. The monthly event will be a discussion series for Level Forward’s More To Talk About (MTTA) platform. The inaugural event, titled “Eco-Justice: Storytelling for the Earth,” will take place on Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Soho House’s Manhattan location.

Launched in 2021, the MTTA platform uses storytelling on stage and screen as a launchpad for actionable conversations regarding culture, from equity, accessibility and allyship to democracy and community. MTTA has won multiple Anthem Awards, which recognize mission-driven organizations.

Also newly announced is the promotion of Andrea Ambam, who, having served as Level Forward’s manager of programming since 2022, will now be director of programming. In this new position, Ambam will lead MTTA’s programming, alongside director of digital Bekah Nutt, producer Julia Dunetz and digital associate Erin Anderson. Additionally, Ambam will steward the organization’s podcast endeavors, as well as other Level Forward programs, including Storytelling for Social Good which she co-created in partnership with Dria Brown from Broadway Advocacy Coalition.

Ambam’s résumé includes serving as a New York Theatre Workshop 2050 Artistic Fellow, an Artistic Fellow with Signature Theatre, a Playwrights Realm Writing Fellow, a Brooklyn Arts Exchange Artist-in-Residence and an Artivism Fellow with Broadway Advocacy Coalition. The Cameroon-American holds a master’s degree in Art and Public Policy from New York University.

“The term multi-hyphenate implies versatility, but it doesn’t always conjure the immense talent and work ethic with which Andrea shows up every day,” said Adrienne Becker, CEO of Level Forward. “As a natural leader of team and thoughts, juxtaposed with her passion and creativity as an artist, Andrea’s contributions to Level Forward are vast and valued by her colleagues and me.”

“As the proud daughter of immigrants, I do not take getting to call storytelling my work lightly,” said Ambam. “I am honored to walk in the legacy of artists who double as cultural workers, and to do this community-centered and culture-shifting work alongside an emergent and respondent company like Level Forward,” said Andrea Ambam.

Level Forward has had a producing presence on the Main Stem since 2019. The organization has served as producer on “What the Constitution Means to Me,” “Slave Play,” “Jagged Little Pill,” “POTUS,” “How to Dance in Ohio” and “Suffs,” as well as “Oklahoma!” and “Parade,” both of which earned Level Forward Best Musical Revival Tony Awards.

“Eco-Justice: Storytelling for the Earth” is free and open to the public; registration is required. The event is inspired by and coincides with the upcoming Climate Week NYC, and is being presented in partnership with Waterbear, a climate-focused media streaming platform.
