Erika Jayne will appear in “Chicago” on Broadway for longer than initially announced. Jayne, who began her second stint in the long-running revival on Jan. 19, will now play the role of Roxie Hart through Feb. 23 at the Ambassador Theatre. Jayne was originally scheduled to appear through Feb. 9.
Jayne has appeared on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” since 2015. As a singer, Jayne released her inaugural single “Roller Coaster” in 2007, and debuted a residency, “Bet It All on Blonde,” at Las Vegas’ House of Blues. Jayne also appeared on the 24th season of “Dancing with the Stars,” and released her memoir, “Pretty Mess,” in 2019. Jayne previously appeared as Roxie Hart in “Chicago” in 2020, marking her Broadway debut.
In addition to Jayne, the current principal company of “Chicago” includes Kimberly Marable as Velma Kelly, Max von Essen as Billy Flynn, Nakiya Peterkin as Matron “Mama” Morton, Greg Hildreth as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine. Casting is by ARC/Duncan Stewart.
Featuring a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse, “Chicago” is directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking. The musical opened on Nov. 14, 1996, and is the second-longest running show (play or musical) in Broadway history.
“Chicago” is produced by Barry and Fran Weissler.
