Producer Hunter Regian has announced the creation of Regian Entertainment. The boutique firm will operate as a producer and general manager, and provide consulting services, event management and investor relations to the theater industry.
The firm’s launch is the next step in the theatrical career of Regian, who, at age 28, received his first Broadway co-producing credit on the recently opened revival of “Sunset Boulevard.”
"Having my first co-producer credit is the realization of a lifelong dream,” said Regian in a statement. “Ever since I was mesmerized by my first visit to a production of ‘Phantom’ on Broadway, I’ve been driven to be part of this incredible world. This experience sparked a passion in me to explore every aspect of producing world-class theater.”
An internship on 2018’s “The Prom” brought Regian to New York, where he was promoted to a full-time position working under producers Bill Damaschke, Jack Lane and Dori Berinstein. Regian subsequently worked in management for Global Creatures, the company of “Moulin Rouge!” lead producer Carmen Pavlovic, as well in development for ZACH Theatre in Austin.
In founding Regian Entertainment, Regian has brought together a variety of investor groups from his professional experiences, from Texas to New York, in supporting new productions.
“We’re committed to a highly personalized, investor-forward approach,” Regian told Broadway News. “We view our investors as essential collaborators, inviting them into a journey that’s as rewarding and immersive as the work itself. Beyond financial contributions, we provide experiences that allow our investors to connect with the project, the team and the creative process, making them feel like true partners.”
“We make theatrical producing an inclusive and dynamic experience for everyone involved,” continued Regian. “This alignment is what makes our approach fresh — and we think it’s the key to creating lasting impact in the world of theater.”
In addition to his contribution to “Sunset Boulevard,” Regian will serve as a co-producer on the Broadway-bound Kristin Chenoweth starrer “The Queen of Versailles,” as well as mountings of “The Tempest” and “Much Ado About Nothing” in London’s West End.
“Hunter has everything it takes to be a successful Broadway producer: smarts, kindness, impeccable taste and, most importantly, patience and humor,” said Tony Award winner Jack Lane, co-producer on both “Prom” and “Sunset,” in a statement. “Watching Hunter’s rise on the Broadway scene has been tremendously gratifying. Hunter is what I call ‘old school’ and, in this day and age, that’s rare. Hunter does this for the work, the craft and his care and concern for the future of theater. He both understands and appreciates the history of theater; thus, he will be able to move the industry forward.”
