Diane Vadnal has been named director of operations for the Press Room. Vadnal joined the Broadway public relations firm on Sept. 3.
In her newly created role, Vadnal will oversee the organization’s daily operations, strategic analysis and smooth functioning of the firm’s clients.
“Diane is a highly respected operations leader with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the arts and entertainment sectors,” said Press Room presidents, Shane Marshall Brown and Jim Byk, in a statement. “Her wealth of experience and strategic insight will be invaluable as we continue to expand our presence in the industry. We are thrilled to welcome her to our leadership team.”
Vadnal’s career has encompassed both the theater and music industries. She oversaw the releases of the original Broadway cast recordings of “Hamilton,” “Dear Evan Hansen” and “Beetlejuice,” in addition to “The Hamilton Mixtape” and “Lizzo’s Coconut Oil EP.” She has held tenures at the Broadway advertising agency RPM and Atlantic Records. Additionally, Vadnal worked on social media strategies and brand partnerships for Broadway’s “Waitress,” “Chicago,” “Moulin Rouge!” and “Death Becomes Her.”
“I am excited to join the Press Room at such an exciting time in its development,” said Vadnal. “The company has a stellar reputation in the industry, and I am eager to contribute to its ongoing success. I look forward to working closely with Shane, Jim and the entire team to support their mission of delivering exceptional public relations services to their clients.”
Vadnal joins a team that, beyond Byk and Brown, includes press associates Nina Marie Ward and Louisa Pancoast, and press assistants Maddie Greenberg and Christian Heino.
Founded in 2018 by Byk and Brown, the Press Room’s current Main Stem roster of clients includes “Hamilton” and “The Book of Mormon,” as well as the upcoming Broadway premiere of Jonathan Spector’s “Eureka Day” and the Stephen Sondheim revue “Old Friends” (as representatives of Manhattan Theatre Club) and the Louis Armstrong bio-musical “A Wonderful World.”
