A new tour of “Dear Evan Hansen” will travel across North America. The tour will begin performances on Sept. 10 at Houston’s Hobby Center and is expected to play over 30 weeks.

Other cities currently set to welcome the tour of the 2017 Best Musical Tony Award winner are Dallas, Texas, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Lincoln, Nebraska and St. Paul, Minnesota, as well as Melbourne and Sarasota, Florida.

Casting for the tour, as well as the creative team, will be announced at a later date.

Featuring a Tony-winning score by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a Tony-winning book by Steven Levenson, “Dear Evan Hansen” follows high school student Evan as he navigates the social media fallout of a lie following a tragic event. The musical opened on Broadway on Dec. 4, 2016, and closed on Sept. 18, 2022, following 1,672 performances. The production was nominated for nine 2017 Tony Awards, winning six. The first national tour opened on Sept. 25, 2018, in Denver, Colorado, and closed on July 2, 2023 in Koger, South Carolina.

The new touring production of “Dear Evan Hansen” is being produced by Crossroads Live North America. The tour will be presented through a special licensing agreement with Music Theatre International.
