“Dear Evan Hansen” producer Stacey Mindich is partnering with David Mirvish, a Canadian producer, to bring the musical to Toronto.
The show will play Royal Alexandra Theatre in March 2019 and will use the original Broadway production team: Benj Pasek and Justin Paul on music and lyrics, Steven Levenson on the book and Michael Greif as director.
“I first saw ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ at the Second Stage in April 2016. My reaction to it was immediate and profound. It moved and entertained me as few other shows have ever done,” Mirvish said in the press release. “I knew it was a show that had to be seen in Toronto.
The Broadway show opened at the Music Box Theatre on Dec. 4, 2016. It has a national tour which will launch September 2018 in Denver.
