The upcoming Broadway revival of “Othello” has revealed additional members of its creative team. The previously announced production, directed by Kenny Leon and starring Denzel Washington, Jake Gyllenhaal and Molly Osborne, is scheduled to play a 15-week limited engagement in spring 2025 at a Shubert Organization-owned theater to be announced.

“Othello” will feature scenic design by Tony Award winner Derek McLane, costume design by Tony winner Dede Ayite, lighting design by Tony winner Natasha Katz and sound design by Tony winner Justin Ellington, as well as hair and wig design by Academy Award winner Mia Neal. All of these artists have collaborated on a Leon-helmed production before, and, with the exception of Katz, “Othello” will mark their first-time designing a Shakespeare production on the Main Stem.

Additional members of the production team include intimacy director Claire Warden and production stage manager Narda E. Alcorn.

“Othello” chronicles the titular Moorish general (Washington) and lieutenant Iago (Gyllenhaal); Iago’s vengeance-fueled manipulation causes Othello to act out against his wife, Desdemona (Osborne).

A venue and production timeline for “Othello” will be announced, in addition to complete casting, by Duncan Stewart and Jarrett Reiche of ARC Casting.

“Othello” is being produced by Brian Anthony Moreland.
