Conrad Ricamora shared on his personal Instagram that he is taking a break from performing in Broadway’s “Oh, Mary!” because of an injury he recently sustained. Ricamora plays the role of “Mary’s Husband” in the new comedy.
“Hi loves, broke a rib so I’m out for a bit. Love you and be back as soon as possible,” Ricamora’s post reads. “P.S. Careful riding those Citi Bikes!”
A representative for the production shared that Ricamora was indeed in a bike accident and hopes to return to “Oh, Mary!” later this week. Until he returns, the role of “Mary’s Husband” will be alternately played by understudies Martin Landry and Peter Smith.
“Oh, Mary!,” written by and starring Cole Escola and directed by Sam Pinkleton, opened on July 11 at the Lyceum Theatre. The comedy puts a spotlight on Mary Todd Lincoln, who reluctantly gave up her career as a mid-1800s cabaret star upon marrying Abraham Lincoln. The play follows Mary’s antics leading up to Lincoln’s assassination.
“Oh, Mary!” is produced by Kevin McCollum, Lucas McMahon, Mike Lavoie and Carlee Briglia.
