Concord Theatricals announced Thursday that it has acquired the exclusive worldwide licensing rights to “The SpongeBob Musical.”
The musical, directed by Tina Landau and featuring a book by Kyle Jarrow, opened at the Palace Theatre on Broadway on Dec. 4, 2017 and played through Sept. 16, 2018. The musical recently closed its national tour.
“After an Award-winning run on Broadway and subsequent successful North American national tour, we are delighted to partner with Concord Theatricals to make ‘The SpongeBob Musical’ available to perform around the globe,” Sharon Cohen, executive vice president of Nickelodeon Experience, said in a statement.
