Ciara Renée to star as Elsa in ‘Frozen’ opposite McKenzie Kurtz

Ciara Renée will take over the role of Elsa in “Frozen,” starring opposite McKenzie Kurtz, who will make her Broadway debut in the role of Anna.  Renée comes to the role after starring as the Witch in “Big Fish” on Broadway and taking over as Leading Player in the revival of “Pippin.

Ciara Renée will take over the role of Elsa in “Frozen,” starring opposite McKenzie Kurtz, who will make her Broadway debut in the role of Anna.

Renée comes to the role after starring as the Witch in “Big Fish” on Broadway and taking over as Leading Player in the revival of “Pippin.” She and Kurtz replace original cast members Caissie Levy and Patti Murin, who will depart the production on Feb. 16.

Renée, Kurtz and Ryan McCartan, taking over the role of Hans from Joe Carroll, begin performances on Feb. 18. Lauren Nicole Chapman will take over the role of Anna Standby.

The new cast members join  the principal cast including Chad Burris as Olaf, Noah J. Ricketts as Kristoff, Robert Creighton as Weselton, Kevin Del Aguila as Oaken and Andrew Pirozzi and Adam Jepsen, who alternate in the role of Sven.

Directed by Michael Grandage, “Frozen” opened at the St. James Theatre on March 22, 2018.
