The Casting Society (CSA) has announced nominations for the 2025 Artios Awards, honoring achievement in casting in theater, film and television. The winners of the 40th awards will be announced and feted across three simultaneous galas at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles, the Edison Ballroom in New York City and the White City House in London on Feb. 12, 2025.

Among the nominees are casting directors of the 2024 Best Play Tony Award nominees “Jaja’s African Hair Braiding,” and “Mother Play,” as well as 2024 Best Play winner “Stereophonic,” all nominated in the Broadway: Comedy or Drama category. Also nominated were the 2024 Best Revival of a Play Tony winner “Appropriate” and nominee “Purlie Victorious,” in addition to Lincoln Center Theater’s revival of “Uncle Vanya.”

Nominees for the Broadway: Musical category comprised the casting directors for 2024 Best Musical Tony winner “The Outsiders,” as well as “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Here Lies Love,” “Suffs,” “Water for Elephants” and the revival of “Cabaret.”

Broadway was also represented in the New York Theater categories, which encompass both Broadway and Off-Broadway. The casting directors for “Oh, Mary!” and “The Great Gatsby” were nominated in the New York Theater: Comedy or Drama and New York Theater: Musical categories, respectively.

The casting directors of the national tours of “Company,” “Funny Girl,” “Mamma Mia!,” “MJ,” “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “The Wiz” were acknowledged in the Theater Tours category, while the pre-Broadway mounting of the “Who’s Tommy” revival at the Goodman Theatre received a nod in the Regional Theater category.

“Congratulations to all of the nominees on their incredible work, including those in our expanded international casting categories, which underscores the global reach of the casting profession,” said DSA president Destiny Lilly in a statement. “We look forward to once again gathering our community to honor the incredible achievements in casting globally in February.”

Lilly received nine nominations in both television and theater categories, including a nod for the aforementioned “Purlie Victorious.”
