Complete casting has been revealed for the upcoming Broadway revival of Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town.” Ricardo Vázquez and Greg Wood will join the company in the role of Townspeople in the Kenny Leon-helmed production. “Our Town” will begin previews on Sept. 17 and open Oct. 10. The revival is scheduled to play a limited engagement through Jan. 19, 2025.
Vázquez made his Broadway debut in 2019’s “The Inheritance” and appeared in the 2023 Off-Broadway mounting of “Fuente Ovejuna” with Theatre for a New Audience.
“Our Town” will mark the Main Stem debut of Wood, who spent a year and a half performing in the national tour of “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
They will appear alongside the previously announced principal cast of Jim Parsons as the Stage Manager, Zoey Deutch as Emily Webb, Ephraim Sykes as George Gibbs, Katie Holmes as Mrs. Webb, Richard Thomas as Mr. Webb, Michelle Wilson as Mrs. Gibbs, Billy Eugene Jones as Dr. Gibbs, Julie Halston as Mrs. Soames and Donald Webber Jr. as Simon Stimpson.
Rounding out the company will be Ephie Aardema, Heather Ayers, Willa Bost, Bobby Daye, Safiya Kaijya Harris, Doron JéPaul, Shyla Lefner, Anthony Michael Lopez, John McGinty, Bryonha Marie, Kevyn Morrow, Hagan Oliveras, Sky Smith and Bill Timoney, in addition to understudies Noah Pyzik, Matthew Elijah Webb and Nimene Sierra Wureh. Casting is by Jim Carnahan.
Set in the early 1900s, “Our Town” examines the beauty in the mundane daily goings-on of the fictional community of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire. The play’s narrator, the Stage Manager (Parsons), brings focus to the relationship of Emily Webb (Deutch) and George Gibbs (Sykes).
Newly announced is the production creative team which will include Tony Award-winning scenic designer Beowulf Boritt, Tony-winning costume designer Dede Ayite, Tony-nominated lighting designer Allen Lee Hughes and Tony-nominated sound designer Justin Ellington. Kate Wilson will serve as dialect coach.
