The Broadway production of “Suffs” will be preserved on film. The musical, which features a Tony Award-winning book and score by Shaina Taub, will receive a live capture for PBS’ “Great Performances” series.

“Suffs” will be filmed at the Music Box Theatre during multiple performances from Dec. 20 to 22. A premiere date for the filmed version of the musical will be announced.

The filming announcement comes ahead of the production’s previously announced Jan. 5, 2025 closing date. “Suffs,” which focuses on the triumphs, challenges and failures of the women’s suffrage movement, opened on April 18. The Leigh Silverman-directed production received six 2024 Tony Award nominations, including a nod for Best Musical.

A national tour of “Suffs” will launch at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre in September 2025. The musical original cast album is currently nominated for a 2025 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

“Suffs” is produced by Jill Furman and Rachel Sussman. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Malala Yousafzai serve as co-producers.
