The upcoming Broadway revival of “Romeo + Juliet” has announced an extension. The Sam Gold-directed production, originally scheduled as a limited engagement through Jan. 19, 2025, will now run through Feb. 16. “Romeo + Juliet” will begin previews on Sept. 26 and open on Oct. 24 at Circle in the Square Theatre.

While two other plays opening in the 2024-2025 season have announced extensions (“Oh, Mary!” added an additional two months, while “Job” will play for an extra four weeks), “Romeo + Juliet” is the first production of the season to extend prior to the start of previews.

As previously announced, Sonya Tayeh will serve as movement director and choreographer, while Jack Antonoff will compose original music for the production. Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler will make their Broadway debuts as Romeo and Juliet, respectively, two youths who share a forbidden love amid their families’ violent feud.

“Romeo + Juliet” is being produced by Seaview.

Correction: An earlier version of this article misspelled Jack Antonoff’s last name. This has been corrected.
