Broadway’s ‘Great Gatsby’ musical to receive original cast recording

The new musical is currently in previews at the Broadway Theatre.

The original score to “The Great Gatsby” will be preserved on a cast recording. Sony Masterworks Broadway will do the honors of producing the album, set for a digital release on June 21 with a CD scheduled for release on Aug. 2. “The Great Gatsby” features music by Jason Howland and lyrics by Nathan Tysen.

Appearing on the album will be the musical’s original Broadway cast, led by Jeremy Jordan as Jay Gatsby and Eva Noblezada as Daisy Buchanan, with Eric Anderson as Meyer Wolfsheim, Sara Chase as Myrtle Wilson, Samantha Pauly as Jordan Baker, Noah J. Ricketts as Nick Carraway, Paul Whitty as George Wilson and John Zdrojeski as Tom Buchanan.

Rounding out the cast are Raymond Baynard, Austin Colby, Kurt Csolak, Curtis Holland, Traci Elaine Lee, Dariana Mullen, Ryah Nixon, Pascal Pastrana, Kayla Pecchioni, Samantha Pollino, Mariah Reives, Dan Rosales, Dave Schoonover, Derek Jordan Taylor, Jake Trammel, Tanairi Sade Vazquez, Jasmine Pearl Villaroel, Katie Webber, Carissa Gaughran and Alex Prakken.

Directed by Marc Bruni, with choreography by Dominique Kelley and music direction by Daniel Edmonds, “The Great Gatsby” features a book by Kait Kerrigan based on the novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Set in the 1920s, the story follows the millionaire Jay Gatsby (Jordan), who will stop at nothing in the pursuit of the lost love of his youth, Daisy Buchanan (Noblezada). 

The musical began previews on March 29 and will officially open on April 25 at the Broadway Theatre.
