Broadway continued to post boffo box office numbers during week 31 of the 2024-2025 season. During the week ending Dec. 22, 34 productions amassed a gross total of $44,466,554. This represents a 1.7% increase from the week ending Dec. 15, when two additional shows were running. For the week ending Dec. 22, attendance dipped 3.9%, with 302,828 admissions counted. Overall capacity (how many available seats in all theaters were filled) decreased a slight 0.6% to 92.7%.

These numbers indicated the fourth consecutive week of Broadway’s total weekly gross surpassing $40 million, a feat that usually only occurs during a major holiday week. During the 2023-2024 season, gross breached $40 million once: during the week ending Dec. 31, 2023.

This week’s attendance figures mark the seventh consecutive week the number of Main Stem admissions has exceeded 300,000. For context, this only happened twice in 2023-2024 (during the weeks ending April 7 and April 28).
