The originating stars of London’s Olivier Award-winning “Operation Mincemeat” musical are headed to Broadway. Claire-Marie Hall, David Cumming, Natasha Hodgson, Zoë Roberts and Olivier winner Jak Malone will make their Broadway debuts in the previously announced transfer, set to begin previews on Feb. 15 and open on March 20, 2025 at the Golden Theatre. The musical is written and composed by the comedy troupe SpitLip, which comprises Cumming, Hodgson, Roberts and Felix Hagan.

Hall, who will reprise her turn as Jean Leslie in the musical, has also been seen onstage in the West End’s “Les Misérables,” on a national tour of “The King and I” and in a U.K. staging of “High School Musical.”

Cumming, who will repeat his Olivier-nominated turn as Charles Cholmondeley, has previously appeared in his musical “Dog Show” and the screen project “The Amazing Mr. Blunden”; he is also known for his podcast series “Who Exploded Vivien Stone?”

Hodgson, set to reprise her Olivier-nominated performance as Ewen Montagu, created and starred in her own scripted BBC fiction series “The Sink”; Hodgson’s screenwriting credits include “Dogs in Space” and “Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared.”

Roberts, slated to repeat her Olivier-nominated turn as Johnny Bevan and others, has a stage résumé that includes the Ivy Isklander series as well as screenwriting credits that comprise “Behind the Screams” and “Eglantine Whitechapel: Supernatural Detective.”

Malone, who took home the 2024 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical for “Operation Mincemeat,” will return to the role of Hester in the musical’s Broadway mounting. Malone’s other stage credits include U.K. stagings of “Sondheim on Sondheim,” “Spies Are Forever” and “A Clockwork Orange.”

Set in 1943, “Operation Mincemeat” follows the real-life World War II British deception operation of the same name. The musical blends elements of farce, thriller and caper to tell the story of a covert operation that turned the tide for the war.

“Operation Mincemeat” is being produced on Broadway by Avalon in association with SpitLip.
