The 2025 edition of “Broadway Backwards” will take place on March 10 at 8 p.m. The annual concert, which is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will be held, for the first time in its 19-year history, at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre. “Broadway Backwards” benefits the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center (“The Center”) in New York City.

“Broadway Backwards” creator Robert Bartley will direct and choreograph this year’s edition of the benefit, which offers traditional showtunes reinterpreted to put queer stories front and center.

Bartley will share choreographic duties with Amanda LaMotte and Adam Roberts, the latter of whom will also serve as associate director. The concert’s music team will include music supervisors Ted Arthur and Mary-Mitchell Campbell, music directors Nicholas Connors and Nick Wilders and associate music director Chris Gurr.

“Broadway Backwards”’ performers and special guests will be announced; Mark Brandon and Jarrett Reiche, of ARC, will serve as casting consultants.

The 2024 edition of “Broadway Backwards” raised a record $917,651 for the Center, which provides a safe space and various services for the LGBTQ community.

“Broadway Backwards” is being sponsored by City National Bank, the New York Times and United Airlines.
