Broadway Advocacy Coalition will hold its second fundraiser, Broadway VS, on June 20, coinciding with the observance of Juneteenth.

The fundraiser will be live streamed from New World Stages beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The event will be hosted by Amber Iman and honor Norm Lewis and Joshua Henry.

Broadway Advocacy Coalition was founded in 2016 by Broadway performers and activists with the mission of bringing together artists, legal representatives, and community leaders in order to facilitate change and make an impact on policy issues from education to immigration and beyond.

The organization won a Special Tony Award in 2021.

“This year Broadway VS is honoring two Black men who have inspired and influenced the theater community for years,” said director of industry initiatives Zhailon Levingston. “In that spirit, we want to use this event to intentionally bring together and lift up so many other Black men – too rarely given their own space to be celebrated – to honor our historic and invaluable presence onstage, but also backstage, front of house, in school and across all theatrical departments while continuing to push the need for broader celebration of all marginalized communities.”
