The upcoming Broadway bow of “BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical” has set its venue and performance dates. The previously announced musical will begin previews on March 11, 2025, and officially open on April 5 at the Broadhurst Theatre, home of the recently vacated musical “A Beautiful Noise.” Jerry Mitchell will direct and choreograph the new musical based on the Betty Boop cartoon character created by Max Fleischer.

Featuring a book by Bob Martin, music by David Foster and lyrics by Susan Birkenhead, “BOOP!” follows a day in the life of Betty Boop. Exhausted from the quotidian duties in her black-and-white world of super celebrity, Betty longs for an ordinary day off and embarks on a New York City adventure of color, music, adventure and love.

The musical previously played a world premiere engagement at Chicago’s CIBC Theatre from Nov. 19 to Dec. 24, 2023.

As previously reported, Jasmine Amy Rogers will reprise her performance from the Chicago premiere as Betty in the Main Stem mounting. Additional casting, by Tara Rubin, will be announced.

“BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical” is being produced by Ostar Productions.
