Bianca Marroquín will rejoin “Chicago” on Broadway. Marroquín will step back into the role of Roxie Hart on Nov. 25 at the Ambassador Theatre. She will succeed Alyssa Milano, who, as previously announced, will depart the production on Nov. 10. An interim replacement for performances from Nov. 11 through 24 will be announced.
Marroquín is a familiar face at the Ambassador, having played many engagements as Roxie from 2002 through 2024. In 2021, she stepped into the role of Velma, joining the handful of performers who have played both leading roles in the long-running revival. Marroquín’s additional Broadway credits include “The Pajama Game” and “In the Heights.”
In addition to Milano, the current principal cast of “Chicago” includes Kimberly Marable as Velma Kelly, Max von Essen as Billy Flynn, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron “Mama” Morton, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine. As previously announced, Latin Grammy Award winner Sebastián Yatra will take over the role of Billy Flynn on Nov. 25.
Featuring a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse, “Chicago” is directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking. The musical opened on Nov. 14, 1996, and is the second-longest running show (play or musical) in Broadway history.
“Chicago” is produced by Barry and Fran Weissler.
