Betsy Wolfe has scheduled a departure date from Broadway’s “& Juliet.” The Tony Award-nominated performer revealed on her personal Instagram she will play her final performance as Anne Hathaway on October 20 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. A replacement has not yet been announced.

Wolfe made her Broadway debut in the 2007 revival of “110 in the Shade.” Since then, she has appeared in “Everyday Rapture,” “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” “Bullets Over Broadway” and “Falsettos,” in addition to replacing as Jenna in “Waitress.” Wolfe earned a 2023 Tony Award nomination for her featured turn in “& Juliet.”

With a Tony Award-nominated book by David West Read and a slew of pop hits from Max Martin’s catalog, “& Juliet” reimagines an ending of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” in which the titular heroine survives and embarks on a journey of female empowerment. The Luke Sheppard-helmed production opened on Nov. 17, 2022, and received nine 2023 Tony nominations, including a nod for Best Musical.

In addition to Wolfe, the current principal company of “& Juliet” includes Maya Boyd as Juliet, Paulo Szot as Lance, Austin Scott as Shakespeare, Justin David Sullivan as May, Jeannette Bayardelle as Angélique, Ben Jackson Walker as Romeo and Philippe Arroyo as Francois. Casting is by Stephen Kopel and Carrie Gardner.

“& Juliet” is produced by Max Martin, Tim Headington, Theresa Steele Page, Jenny Petersson, Martin Dodd and Eva Price.
