‘Back to the Future’ and ‘Suffs’ exit strong as overall Broadway box office dips less than usual

For the week ending Jan. 5, the 33 currently running productions grossed $45,157,253.

Broadway’s box office yielded strong earnings, despite the typical post-holiday dip, during week 33 of the 2024-2025 season. The 33 current offerings took in a collective $45,157,253 for the week ending Jan. 5. This represents a 19.1% drop from the week prior, the week ending Dec. 29, 2024 (when the same number of productions were running), which was Broadway’s second-highest grossing week in recorded history. Attendance decreased 5.1%, with 290,640 admissions counted. Capacity was down 2%, with theatergoers filling 95.1% of available seats in theaters.
