Original cast members Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell will reunite for a benefit concert of “Ragtime.”

The concert, which will benefit The Actors Fund, will be dedicated to Marin Mazzie, an original cast member who died last year. It will take place at the Minskoff Theatre on April 27, 2020.

“Our community was heartbroken at the loss of one of Broadway’s great stars, my good friend and original ‘Ragtime’ cast member Marin Mazzie,” said Mitchell, who is also the chairman of the Actors Fund. “Marin’s courage and grace inspired everyone who knew her as well as her countless fans and generations of theater professionals. She was a true original and our cast, creative team and The Actors Fund are proud to dedicate this evening to her memory.”

Mazzie was Tony nominated for her portrayal of “Mother” in the original 1998 production. McDonald will resume her Tony Award-winning role of Sarah opposite Mitchell’s Coalhouse Walker, Jr.

The original production of “Ragtime,” which features a score by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty and a book by Terrence McNally, opened on January 18, 1998 at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, which is now the Lyric Theatre.

Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
