Reality television star Ariana Madix has lengthened her stay in “Chicago”’s Cook County Jail. Originally slated to play the role of Roxie Hart through March 28, Madix will now stay with the long-running revival through April 7.
Madix joined the company of “Chicago” at the Ambassador Theatre on Jan. 29. During the first week of Madix’s tenure (week ending Feb. 4), the musical grossed $939,177, a 41% increase from the week prior.
In addition to Madix, the current principal cast of “Chicago” includes Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Max von Essen as Billy Flynn, Lili Thomas as Matron “Mama” Morton, Red Concepción as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine. Casting is by ARC/Duncan Stewart.
The second-longest running production in Broadway history, the Tony Award-winning “Chicago” revival celebrated 27 years on the Main Stem on Nov. 14, 2023.
