“A Beautiful Noise,” the Neil Diamond bio-musical, will welcome Amber Ardolino to the cast. Ardolino will take on the role of Marcia Murphey, Diamond’s second wife, succeeding original star Robyn Hurder, who was previously announced to depart on Dec. 17. Ardolino is set to join the cast on Jan. 2, 2024.
In the interim, following Hurder’s final bow and Ardolino’s first, current standby Becky Gulsvig will play Marcia from Dec. 19 - 31. Understudy Paige Faure will don Marcia’s blue jeans for two performances on Dec. 21 and 22.
Ardolino will join “A Beautiful Noise” following her tenure as Linda McFly in this season’s “Back to the Future.” She made her Broadway debut in the ensemble of 2018’s “Head Over Heels” and appeared in three productions of “Hamilton” — two on the road as well as the Broadway production. More recently, Ardolino was seen in the ensembles of “Moulin Rouge!” and “Funny Girl.”
The musical, which celebrated its one-year anniversary on the Main Stem on Dec. 4, is a biographical look at the work and life of Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Diamond through the lens of therapy sessions.
In addition to Hurder, the current cast of the musical features Nick Fradiani as “Neil Diamond — Then,” Tony nominee Mark Jacoby as “Neil Diamond — Now,” Shirine Babb as Doctor, Jessie Fisher as Jaye Posner, Michael McCormick as Fred Weintraub/Tommy O’Rourke, Tom Alan Robbins as Bert Berns/Kieve Diamond and Bri Sudia as Ellie Greenwich/Rose Diamond.
“A Beautiful Noise” is produced by Ken Davenport and Bob Gaudio.
