Alan Menken has signed a global publishing agreement with Warner/Chappell Music, the music publishing group announced Thursday.
Warner/Chappell Music, an arm of Warner Music Group, will administer all of Menken’s catalog, both current and future material, excluding select Disney works. Menken’s current work includes “A Bronx Tale,” the live-action “Aladdin” movie and “Aladdin” on Broadway.
“Alan is unquestionably one of the greatest songwriters and composers of our lifetime, and his commitment to his craft represents everything we stand for at Warner/Chappell. We’re honored to count him among our first-rate theatre repertoire, and excited for the many opportunities ahead,” Jon Platt, chairman and chief executive of Warner/Chappell Music, said in the press release.
Warner/Chappell Music’s catalog also includes songs from George Gershwin, Comden and Green, Stephen Sondheim and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
