‘A Bronx Tale’ to close on Broadway Aug. 5

“A Bronx Tale” will close on Aug. 5, after playing 29 previews and 700 regular performances. The musical, which currently features book writer and actor Chazz Palminteri in a starring role, opened at the Longacre Theatre on Dec. 1, 2016.

“A Bronx Tale” will close on Aug. 5, after playing 29 previews and 700 regular performances.

The musical, which currently features book writer and actor Chazz Palminteri in a starring role, opened at the Longacre Theatre on Dec. 1, 2016. The show was directed by Robert De Niro and Jerry Zaks, with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater.

The show’s grosses were bumpy over the past season, reaching a high of $1.2 million in the week ended Dec. 31, 2017, but falling to a low of $469,533 in the week ended May 6, 2018. For the past few weeks, grosses have remained fairly flat, bringing in $558,776 in the last reported week.

“A Bronx Tale” previously announced a national tour beginning in Rochester, New York in October.

The show is produced by Tommy Mottola, the Dodgers, Tribeca Productions and Evamere Entertainment.
