The Tony Awards has confirmed additional performers and presenters for the 2024 Tony Awards. Nicole Scherzinger will perform during the “In Memoriam” segment. The annual moment of reflection honors members of the Broadway community who passed away in the previous year.
Scherzinger, who is slated to repeat her Olivier Award-winning performance in the fall 2024 Broadway transfer of “Sunset Boulevard,” will be introduced by the newly elected president of Actors’ Equity Association, Brooke Shields.
Also revealed is that the late, three-time Tony-honored Chita Rivera will be acknowledged separately. Rivera passed away in January at the age of 91 after a six-decade Broadway career. Tony winners Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Bebe Neuwirth will pay tribute to Rivera. Mitchell and Rivera appeared together in the 1993 musical “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” Rivera and Neuwirth played Velma in the 1975 and 1996 productions of “Chicago,” respectively. Rivera and McDonald have both been honored with ten Tony nominations across their careers.
