The Broadway League Foundation has announced a date for the 15th annual National High School Musical Theatre Awards, also known as the Jimmys. The annual ceremony highlighting talent from more than 50 regions in the U.S. will be held on June 24, 2024, at the Minskoff Theatre.
The Jimmys is described by the foundation as a “national talent showcase celebrating outstanding achievement [which] recognizes the importance of theater arts education in schools.” The June 24 ceremony will be the culmination of a 10-day intensive, in which the winners of regional high school musical theater competitions will gather for coaching sessions, training and rehearsals. Of more than 100 students anticipated to attend, two will be named national winners during the ceremony by a professional panel of judges.
Founded in 2009 by Nederlander Alliances LLC, Pittsburgh CLO and Broadway Education Alliance (BEA), the Jimmys have since raised the profile of musical theater in schools, honoring educators and motivating the next generation of performers and fans.
The Broadway League operates the program through its philanthropic arm, the Broadway League Foundation.
