To celebrate its five-year anniversary on Broadway, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” has announced a series of celebratory events. Titled “5 Days of Magic” and slated to begin on April 19, they will include in-theater giveaways and an in-person lottery.
At the April 19 matinée performance, attendees will experience a presentation from the New York City Mayor’s Office. On April 20, a video will be released of the Broadway cast performing a moment from the production at the outdoor sky deck Edge.
Fans of the show will be welcome to attend an in-person lottery at the Lyric Theatre on April 21 beginning at 4:30 p.m. There will be 50 tickets located within the first five rows of the theater available for $5 each. The drawing will take place at 5 p.m. Those who enter the lottery will also have the chance to win additional prizes.
On April 22, audience members at both performances will receive a commemorative gift. And the April 23 performance will include special guest appearances and giveaways.
The 5 Days of Magic events come on the heels of a week-long celebration earlier this year where the production honored each of the four Hogwarts houses.
Now in two acts instead of two separate parts (as it was originally staged), “Cursed Child” resumed performances on Nov. 12, 2021, after the industry-wide shutdown. The production initially opened on April 22, 2018.
The Tony Award-winning play is produced on Broadway by Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions.
