Nonprofit organization Building for the Arts has announced that subsidized rehearsal space will now be offered at the Theatre Row Rehearsal Studios located in midtown Manhattan.

Building for the Arts will offer a total of 1,500 hours of studio time at the facility — available to be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rehearsal rooms will be available to rent for $8 to $10 per hour. These subsidized rates are specifically available for Studios 3, 5 and 6, which range in capacity from 15 to 20 people.

The subsidized spaces are limited to 100 hours per company or entity and require a reservation, though reservations do not have any artist prerequisites.

Building for the Arts, under the leadership of president David J. Roberts, operates Theatre Row; Music and the Brain; and the American Playwriting Foundation. The organization works to expand access to the performing arts by providing creative spaces, opportunities and connection.

The affordable rehearsal space is supported by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
