Colton Ryan and Anna Uzele to lead ‘New York, New York’ on Broadway

Principal casting has been announced for the upcoming Broadway production of "New York, New York. " Colton Ryan and Anna Uzele will take on the lead roles of Jimmy Doyle and Francine Evans, respectively. Additional cast announcements are expected in the coming weeks.

Principal casting has been announced for the upcoming Broadway production of “New York, New York.”

Colton Ryan and Anna Uzele will take on the lead roles of Jimmy Doyle and Francine Evans, respectively.

Additional cast announcements are expected in the coming weeks.

Ryan made his Broadway debut in “Dear Evan Hansen” and went on to originate the role of Gene Laine in  “Girl From The North Country.” Uzele made her Main Stem debut in the 2017 revival of “Once on This Island” and later originated the role of Catherine Parr in “SIX.”

Previews are set to begin at the St. James Theatre on March 24, ahead of an official opening night on April 26.

Tony Award winner Susan Stroman will direct and choreograph. Music and lyrics are by Tony winners Kander & Ebb. Notably, the duo wrote the title song “New York, New York,” made famous by Frank Sinatra. The musical features a book by Tony nominee David Thompson and co-written by Sharon Washington. Additional lyrics are by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda. Casting is by Jim Carnahan Casting.

Two tracks from the production are now available to stream. Uzele can be heard on the song “But The World Goes ‘Round” and Ryan can be heard singing “Music, Money, Love.”

“New York, New York” is produced on Broadway by Sonia Friedman and Tom Kirdahy, in association with MGM On Stage and Chartoff-Winkler.
