Comedian and host of “The Daily Show” Trevor Noah will moderate a special talkback after the Nov. 29 performance of “A Strange Loop.”
The talkback is part of the production’s Black Theater Night, which offers a special welcome to Black theatergoers to be in attendance, and will feature “A Strange Loop” book writer Michael R. Jackson, choreographer Raja Feather Kelly and members of the cast. The event comes as the musical is set to play its final performance on Jan. 15, 2023.
“I was blown away the first time I saw Michael R. Jackson’s ‘A Strange Loop’ and have returned a few times since,” said Noah in a statement. “It is one of the funniest and most poignant shows I’ve ever seen. I’m excited to host this special performance and to get to talk to the company about this brilliant and vital piece of theater.”
Featuring a book, music and lyrics by Jackson, “A Strange Loop” opened at the Lyceum Theatre on April 26. It had its world premiere at Playwrights Horizons in 2019 before moving on to a run at Washington DC’s Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in December 2021.
In addition to winning the 2022 Tony Award for Best Musical, Jackson won the award for Best Book of a Musical.
“A Strange Loop” is produced on Broadway by Barbara Whitman, Page 73 Productions, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and Playwrights Horizons.
