Oscar winner Jessica Chastain will star in director Jamie Lloyd’s new production of “A Doll’s House” in 2023; Amy Herzog will pen a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s classic drama.
Production dates, theater, ticketing information, creative team and additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Chastain was set to begin rehearsals for “A Doll’s House” in London back in April 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic derailed these plans.
The actor last appeared on Broadway as Catherine in the 2012 revival of “The Heiress.” Lloyd was last represented on Broadway with his 2019 mounting of Harold Pinter’s “Betrayal,” which earned four Tony Award nominations including Best Revival of a Play. “A Doll’s House” will mark Herzog’s Broadway debut, though she is a Pulitzer Prize finalist for her play “4000 Miles.”
The Jamie Lloyd Company production of “A Doll’s House” will be produced on Broadway by Ambassador Theatre Group, Gavin Kalin Productions and Wessex Grove. The Jamie Lloyd Company is a partnership between Lloyd and Ambassador Theatre Group.
