Brandon Victor Dixon to join Angelica Ross in Broadway’s ‘Chicago’

Additional casting changes for “Chicago” on Broadway have been announced.

Joining the previously announced Angelica Ross as Roxie Hart will be Brandon Victor Dixon as Billy Flynn and Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly.

All three will assume their respective roles on Sept. 12 as “Chicago” continues its run at the Ambassador Theatre.

They will succeed current cast members Charlotte d’Amboise as Roxie Hart, Lana Gordon as Velma and Erich Bergen as Billy Flynn.

Wright has been with the Broadway company of “Chicago” on and off for 20 years. Dixon, last seen on Broadway in “Hamilton,” will be joining the company for the first time.

As previously announced, Ross will be making her Broadway debut in the Kander & Ebb musical, becoming the first openly transgender woman to play a leading role in a Broadway show.

The current cast also includes Charity Angél Dawson as Matron “Mama” Morton, Evan Harrington as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine. They are joined by David Bushman, Jennifer Dunne, Jessica Ernest, Jeff Gorti, Arian Keddell, Mary Claire King, Joseph London, Barrett Martin, Sharon Moore, Drew Nellessen, Celina Nightengale, Brian O’Brien, Denny Paschall, Jermaine R. Rembert, Rachel Shur, Michael Scirrotto, Christine Cornish Smith and Brian Spitulnik.

“Chicago” is produced on Broadway by Barry and Fran Weissler.
