‘American Buffalo’ to require masks during final two weeks

“American Buffalo,” entering the final two weeks of its limited engagement, will continue to require patrons to wear masks.

The news comes on the heels of the Broadway League’s announcement that a “mask optional” policy has been adopted for the month of July.

Per the League’s new policy, audience members are encouraged to wear masks during performances, but they are no longer mandatory.

The production cites the small theater size and close proximity of actors to audience members as reasons for maintaining a mask mandate.

“American Buffalo” will conclude its run at Circle in the Square Theatre on July 10.

The play, lead produced by Jeffrey Richards, will have played 101 regular performances and 27 preview performances at the time of closing.
