The original Broadway cast album for new musical “Mr. Saturday Night” will be released next month, Craft Recordings/Concord Theatricals announced Wednesday.
The 17-track album, featuring the Broadway cast led by Billy Crystal, will be available for streaming and digital consumption as of June 10.
Jeffrey Lesser and the musical’s composer Jason Robert Brown produced the album, along with Sean Patrick Flahaven, who co-produced, as well as lyricist Amanda Green, serving as associate producer.
“Mr. Saturday Night” joins several fellow new Broadway musicals in releasing its cast album in the leadup to the Tony Awards. “A Strange Loop” will also release its remaining tracks on June 10, having released the first five last week. “Mrs. Doubtfire” has also said its cast album will come out next month. “Paradise Square” plans to release its own later this month, while “Six” released its live cast recording earlier this month.
The musical received five Tony Award nominations at last week’s announcement and proceeded to play its highest-grossing week since opening, according to grosses for the week ending May 15.
“We’re thrilled to be continuing our relationship with Jason and Amanda and capturing the stellar performances of Billy and this fabulous cast,” said Flahaven, Concord’s chief theatricals executive. “In this first full Broadway season in three years, it’s a joy to bring this original musical comedy score to audiences worldwide.”
Craft Recordings and Concord Theatricals, both subsidiaries of Concord, have previously collaborated on the Broadway cast recordings of “Come From Away” and the 2018 revival of “Carousel,” among other cast albums and theater-adjacent projects.
“Mr. Saturday Night” opened at the Nederlander Theatre on April 27.
